The Hungry Monk Lives On! Dinner & wine pairing evening – Saturday 30th November


We are delighted to be hosting a special food and wine pairing dinner again with our local friend and guest sommelier Dominic.

We will present the world famous Banoffi Pie, made by Ian Dowding, original co-creator of the recipe when employed as the founding chef of the Hungry Monk, originally in 1968. It closed in 2012 and we would like to pay homage to its owners Nigel and Sue Mackenzie.

*The main course is based on Philippa Vine’s recipe celebrated in Sarah raven’s Garden Cook Book, using lamb raised by her husband from Bates Green Farm, instead of venison. Vegetarian alternative will use mushroom and extra chestnuts.
